PDP COLLAPSES IN IDANRE AS AGBOOLA, AKINRINLOLA, AND ALL PDP YOUTH FORUM MEMBERS DEFECT TO APC
In a major political landslide that further cements the growing dominance of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, Engr. Joshua Agboola (O’MU YES) , Mr. Akinrinlola Ojo, the entire member of Idanre Progressive Forum; the largest youth movement in Idanre, has officially decamped from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to join the ruling party.
Representing the Governor of Ondo State, His Excellency, Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, at the epoch-making event was Hon. Fade’ Ojamomi, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Inter-Party Affairs.
Prominent figures at the event included the Commissioner for Art and Culture, Hon. Adesoji Afolabi; former Member representing Idanre/Ifedore Federal Constituency, Hon. Tajudeen Adefisoye; the APC Chairman in Idanre Local Government and his executives; SSAs and SAs to the Governor from Idanre Local Government; as well as party leaders, ward executives, and enthusiastic APC faithful from across the local government.
Speaking on behalf of the new entrants, Engr. Joshua Oluwalankè Agboola and Mr. Akinrinlola Ojo declared that their defection was a clear reflection of the total collapse of the PDP in the state and their admiration for the progressive governance style of Governor Aiyedatiwa.
According to them, “The PDP is no longer a party to identify with. Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has redefined governance through his giant strides in infrastructure, human capital development, civil service welfare, and people-oriented policies. We are proud to identify with his vision and leadership.”
They pledged total allegiance to the Governor as the leader of the party in the state and promised to actively promote his development agenda while working for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Party leaders, including Hon. Adefisoye and Hon. Afolabi, lauded the decampees for their courage and trust in the leadership of Governor Aiyedatiwa, assuring them of full integration and inclusion in all party activities and structures.
In his goodwill message, Hon. Fade’ Ojamomi, on behalf of Governor Aiyedatiwa, congratulated the new members for “making the right political choice” and for collapsing the entire PDP structure in Ofosu, Opa and neighboring communities into the APC.
“Your decision to join the All Progressives Congress is a clear testament to the growing confidence in the visionary, inclusive, and people-centered leadership of His Excellency, Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa. Under his guidance, Ondo State continues to experience a new wave of progressivism, development, and unity.”
Hon. Ojamomi further emphasized that the APC under Governor Aiyedatiwa’s leadership remains committed to delivering projects and policies that will uplift the good people of Idanre and the entire Ondo State.
