Chairman Owolabi Pledges Modernization of Okeagbe Market

In a bid to enhance the infrastructure of Okeagbe Market, the Executive Chairman of Akoko Northwest Local Government Area, Hon. Model Esan Owolabi, paid an inspection visit to assess recent damage within the market square.
Accompanied by key officials — including the Local Government Chief Engineers and Councilor Agbaoye, who represents Oyin/Oge Ward 3 — Chairman Owolabi promptly approved the construction of modern facilities. These include the renovation of public toilets and the installation of a new industrial borehole, marking another step toward fulfilling his administration’s development agenda.
During the visit, Chairman Owolabi emphasized the importance of maintaining a clean and hygienic environment, urging market leaders to sustain cleanliness efforts.
In response, the Iyaloja of Okeagbe Market expressed her appreciation for the Chairman’s visit and assured him of the traders’ commitment to regular tax payments — a move that will further boost the Local Government’s Internally Generated Revenue (IGR).
