Ondo Hotel Disappearance: Double Tragedy as Missing Vice Principal’s Wife Breaks Ankle
The mystery surrounding the disappearance of Mr. Olaloye Olatunde, a vice principal of Ipele Community High School, Owo, has taken another dramatic turn, as his wife reportedly broke her ankle amid the ongoing search for him.
Family sources confirmed that Mrs. Adenike Olaloye, who has been under immense emotional strain since her husband went missing, fell at home and sustained the injury. She is currently receiving medical treatment.
Relatives link the incident to the mounting pressure and anxiety over Olatunde’s whereabouts.
“She has been deeply disturbed since her husband disappeared. The stress and worry may have contributed to the accident,” a family source said.
Mr. Olatunde travelled from Owo on Sunday, August 24, 2025, to attend a Child Labour Programme organised by Trace Project Akure.
The training was hosted at Sunview Hotel, Alagbaka, Akure, where he was lodged alongside 57 other participants.
He maintained regular communication with his family between Monday and Wednesday. However, by Friday, August 29, his phone was switched off, and he was never heard from again.
Days later, his clothes, shoes, and personal effects were discovered abandoned in his hotel room — raising serious questions about the safety of participants and the hotel’s handling of the case.
The family had earlier alleged irregularities in the hotel’s CCTV, insisting that the footage presented to them was unclear and did not show Olatunde.
The police, however, confirmed that an investigation is ongoing as four suspects have been arrested in connection with the case.
Now, with his wife hospitalised and his whereabouts still unknown, the family’s appeal for help has grown more desperate.
“We are pleading with anyone who has information to come forward. Sunview Hotel and the organisers must also do more to help us find him,” a relative stressed.
The case has continued to generate tension across Ondo State, with public pressure mounting on both the hotel and the NGOs behind the programme to provide clearer answers.
