CITIZENS’ ASSEMBLY WELCOMES HON. MINISTER OF WORKS, ENGR. DAVID UMAHI, TO BENUE STATE FOR FLAG-OFF AND INSPECTION OF FEDERAL ROAD PROJECTS.
The Citizens’ Assembly, Benue State, warmly welcomed the Hon. Minister of Works, His Excellency, Engr. David Nweze Umahi, to Benue State, where I had the privilege of joining him at the flag-off ceremony of the Wurukum Flyover and during the inspection of the ongoing Makurdi–9th Mile Enugu–Otukpo–Makurdi dualization road project, as well as the construction of the Lafia Bypass. These landmark projects are being executed under the Renewed Hope Infrastructural Agenda of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.
The road network, which cuts across the North Central states of Nasarawa, Benue, and Kogi, and extends into Enugu State in the South East, is set to transform regional connectivity, reduce travel time, stimulate trade, and significantly ease the burden on farmers by minimizing post-harvest losses.
The Hon. Minister of Works has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to ensuring quality infrastructure is delivered across Nigeria. His hands-on approach, inspecting projects, engaging contractors, and interacting with host communities, reflects an evident passion for service and accountability.
I also accompanied the Hon. Minister and the Governor of Benue State on an inspection of ongoing state-led road projects, which are commendable efforts of the Executive Governor of Benue State, who is complementing the Federal Government’s interventions with state-driven road projects across the state to improve infrastructure and enhance the livelihoods of our people.
These interventions demonstrate that with collaboration between the Federal and State Governments, backed by strong community support, we can drive development, strengthen our economy, and bring the Renewed Hope vision closer to every citizen.
