Bob-Manuel Udokwu Denies Disrespecting Pete Edochie, Says He Was Misrepresented
Veteran Nollywood actor, Bob-Manuel Udokwu, has dismissed reports claiming he accused his colleague, Pete Edochie, of parading himself as Nollywood’s oldest actor.

In an interview with NollyNow, Udokwu clarified that his comments during a podcast were taken out of context. He explained that while he began acting in Nollywood before Edochie, he never suggested that the legendary actor was deceiving anyone.
Udokwu stressed that his remarks were strictly about the modern Nollywood era, noting that Edochie’s iconic role in Things Fall Apart predated Nollywood. He further emphasized his deep respect for Edochie, acknowledging him as an elder both in age and stature.
“Pete Edochie is older than me by far. In our African culture, we don’t disrespect our elders. I will never disrespect him,” Udokwu stated.
