π₯ HONOUR CROWNED WITH TRADITION: OTUNBA DR. ADENIRAN OYEBADE INSTALLED AS OTUNBA MAYEGUN OF USOPO ALAGBAKA π₯
10th day of August, 2025!
In a celebration steeped in culture and pride, the royal court of His Royal Majesty, the Olu of Usopo Alagbaka, came alive today as the palace drums echoed and the people gathered in joyful anticipation. The Usopo community β known far and wide as the βLand of Beautyβ β comprises the whole of Alagbaka and its extensions, sharing boundaries with Oba Ile town in Akure North Local Government and Imafon town in Akure South Local Government.
Otunba Dr. Adeniran Oyebade, a U.S.βtrained Biomedical Engineer, decorated U.S. Navy veteran, and humanitarian of uncommon impact, was officially installed as the Otunba Mayegun of Usopo Alagbaka. This prestigious investiture recognizes a life fashioned by excellence, discipline, and generous service β a life that has moved with equal fluency between global achievement and local devotion.
Though Dr. Oyebade has been nominated for a handful of chieftaincy honours β including one in Ibadan β this particular title is freighted with deep historical meaning. His paternal grandmother, the late Madam Mobolaji Alateileke, hailed from Alagbaka and was a celebrated womenβs leader across the community and its environs. Her footprint in the social life of the area makes this conferment not only an honour, but a homecoming of legacy and memory.
True to the belief that charity begins at home, Otunba Dr. Adeniran Oyebade has pledged a N20m landed property at Sunshine Estate to fund the construction of a community multipurpose hall in honour of his late grandmother, Madam Mobolaji Alateileke β a gift that promises to translate grief into lasting benefit for generations to come.
This revered title, bestowed by the Olu of Usopo Alagbaka, is more than ceremonial. It is a royal seal of trust on a vocation of service β from medical service in the U.S. Navy to pioneering biomedical innovation, from grassroots healthcare initiatives to empowering families across Ondo Central. As Otunba Mayegun, Dr. Oyebade now stands as a living bridge between Usopoβs luminous heritage and the unfolding promise of the future: where tradition strengthens progress, and leadership births transformation.
Long live the Olu of Usopo Alagbaka!
Long live the Otunba Mayegun!
Long live Ondo Central!
